1987 EP's (RSD 2026) - Primal Scream [VINYL]

1987 EP's (RSD 2026) - Primal Scream [VINYL]

Originally forming in Scotland in 1982, Primal Scream were key to the C86 indie scene in the UK. They were signed by Alan McGee to Elevation Records in 1987 for their debut album, 'Sonic Flower Groove'. Featuring Bobby Gillespie on vocals Jim Beattie and Andrew Innes on guitar, and Robert Young on bass, the sound of their debut is very different to the dance orientated groove they pioneered in the 1990's. Very much influenced by Nuggets, psychedelic pop and garage rock of 1960's America, the album was preceded by two singles of their Byrds-infused indie-pop; 'Gentle Tuesday', released June 1987, and `Imperial', released September 1987.
